Payment Terms
Card, PayTo and BECS Direct Debit payments.

1. Where these terms apply
GippsHost is operated by Aaron Patton (ABN 51 049 938 660). These payment terms explain payments authorised through GippsHost signup, Apex and Nexus. They apply when you choose and authorise a supported payment method. Your service terms, confirmed prices and rights under Australian law continue to apply. Publication of this document alone does not change an existing service contract or authorise a debit.
Available methods are shown in the relevant payment form. Card, PayTo and Australian BECS Direct Debit are supported for eligible invoice and recurring payments. Some prepaid purchases, including domain purchases and renewals, require a card. Domain auto-renewal currently requires a card as the account default. Bank transfer is available only where GippsHost has agreed to it for the account or invoice.
2. Saving and authorising a payment method
Only the account holder or a person authorised to operate the nominated card or bank account may provide it. The customer must ensure that the person establishing a company payment method has the necessary authority.
Payment details are entered into Stripe’s secure payment form. Saving a payment method establishes permission for future collections; it does not itself take a payment. A separate Pay action for an existing invoice collects the invoice amount displayed. A purchase checkout may separately authorise or collect its displayed price as explained in that checkout.
Where the form says a method becomes the account default, saving it instructs GippsHost to use it for eligible future account invoices. Invoice amounts and dates can vary with your services, usage, adjustments and agreed price changes. We collect the valid amount owing, subject to the service agreement, billing restrictions and bank authorisation.
3. PayTo agreements
PayTo requires you to approve an agreement through your bank’s app or online banking. Check the business, account and agreement details before approving. Your bank may require online banking rather than its mobile app.
The amount displayed during setup is a maximum per payment. It is not a charge at setup, a monthly spending limit or permission to charge the maximum regardless of the invoice balance. The standard GippsHost setup maximum is AUD 1,000 per payment; signup may request a higher maximum where its disclosed expected first invoice is higher. The exact amount is shown before you authorise.
An “ad hoc” agreement permits payments on varying dates and for varying amounts up to the approved maximum. It has no fixed end date unless the agreement specifies one. A collection above the approved maximum requires a new agreement and your approval.
You can view, pause or cancel a PayTo agreement in your bank’s online banking or supported app. Contact your bank for assistance managing the agreement, or GippsHost for questions about an invoice.
4. BECS Direct Debit
For BECS you complete a Direct Debit Request and accept the Direct Debit Request Service Agreement presented by Stripe. Those documents govern the bank debit arrangement and are available during setup. Keep a copy of the authorisation and associated notifications.
Ensure that the nominated Australian account supports direct debits, its details are correct and cleared funds are available. You can request cancellation of the debit authorisation through your bank or GippsHost. Contact us promptly if you need to change the account or debit arrangement; a debit already submitted may still be processed.
Stripe sends mandate and debit notifications to the email address associated with the authorisation. Keep that email address up to date. GippsHost also provides invoices, payment status and receipts.
5. Collection dates, processing and unsuccessful payments
The service terms and invoice identify when payment is due. Automatic invoice collection will not begin before the applicable due date or while a required billing hold applies. NBN signup does not take a payment; NBN billing begins only after activation and any required operational or line-capability checks.
A bank debit may be pending while the bank processes it. BECS success or failure can take up to three business days to be confirmed, and non-business days can affect timing. We show the payment as pending and record it as paid only after confirmation. Please contact us before making another payment for a pending invoice so that we can avoid duplicate collection.
If a bank debit fails, the unpaid amount remains due and you may need to update your method or arrange another payment. GippsHost stops scheduled bank retries for that invoice while the failure is reviewed. We give applicable notices and assistance before collection or service restrictions; payment disputes and financial-hardship protections remain available.
6. Fees
This payment-method update introduces no new customer surcharge, setup fee or dishonour fee. Stripe’s processing or failure fees charged to GippsHost are not automatically added to your invoice. Any separately applicable customer fee must have been disclosed under your service agreement or invoice and be permitted by law. Your bank may charge fees under your arrangement with it.
7. Changing a method or cancelling an agreement
You can manage saved payment methods in Nexus under Billing → Payment methods or ask GippsHost for assistance. Updating a default method does not reverse a payment already submitted. Removing a saved method in Nexus is separate from cancelling its bank agreement; use the bank’s agreement controls or contact us if you also want future bank authorisation stopped.
Pausing or cancelling a payment agreement does not cancel a service, settle an unpaid invoice or remove valid charges. To cancel a service, use the service cancellation process in Nexus or contact GippsHost. Your rights to dispute a charge, receive assistance or obtain a remedy under law are unaffected.
8. Disputes, refunds and contact
Contact support@gippshost.com.au or 1300 881 437 promptly about an incorrect or unexpected debit. Include the invoice number, amount and date, without sending full card numbers or bank login credentials. You may also contact your bank about an unauthorised or disputed payment; these terms do not restrict your bank or statutory dispute rights.
Refunds and credits follow the applicable service terms and Australian law. Bank refunds can require the original debit to finish processing and can take additional business days. If a bank dispute is already underway, tell us so that we can coordinate the resolution and avoid a duplicate refund. Please keep payment and mandate notices for your records.
Payment information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. See also Stripe’s PayTo information and Stripe’s BECS information.
