Referral Credit Terms

These Terms apply to the GippsHost Internet Referral Program, operated by GippsHost, Aaron Patton (ABN 51 049 938 660). By sharing your referral link or accepting referral credit, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.1 The program is open to GippsHost account holders in good standing. A personal referral code and link are generated for your account automatically and can be found in your customer portal.

1.2 Your account must be active at the time credit is issued. Credit is not issued to closed or suspended accounts.

2.1 A referral is recorded when a new GippsHost Internet order is started through your personal referral link, and that order is completed.

2.2 The referral link must be used at the start of the order. A referral cannot be added afterwards, and referrals cannot be recorded retrospectively for orders already placed.

2.3 Only one referral can be recorded per order.

2.4 The program applies to GippsHost Internet (nbn®) services only. Other services — including web hosting, domain names, email, phone services and IT support — do not earn referral credit.

3.1 You earn $1.00 in referral credit for each referred Internet service, each time that service pays a monthly service invoice.

3.2 Credit is issued after the referred service's invoice has actually been paid — not when the order is placed, and not when the invoice is raised.

3.3 The referred service must still be active at the time credit is issued, and the referred customer's account must also be open and in good standing. A disconnected, cancelled or suspended service stops earning credit, as does a closed or suspended referred account.

3.4 Each paid monthly service invoice earns one $1.00 credit. Paying several invoices at once does not increase the rate, and a single invoice cannot earn credit twice.

3.5 There is no cap on the number of services you may refer, and no fixed end date for the program.

4.1 Referral credit is applied automatically to invoices on your GippsHost account. You do not need to claim it or enter a code.

4.2 Referral credit can be applied to any GippsHost invoice on your account, not only Internet invoices.

4.3 Where you hold both referral credit and cash credit (for example from an overpayment), referral credit is used first.

5.1 Referral credit expires one month after it is issued if it has not been used by then. Expired credit is removed from your balance and cannot be reinstated.

5.2 Your current balance, and the date your next credit expires, are shown in your customer portal.

6.1 Referral credit has no cash value. It is not refundable, cannot be withdrawn, cannot be paid out, and cannot be transferred to another person or account.

6.2 If your account is closed, any unused referral credit is forfeited.

6.3 Referral credit is a discount applied to your account and is not a payment made to you.

7.1 Referring an additional service for your own account is permitted, provided the service is genuine, active and paid for in the ordinary way.

7.2 GippsHost may withhold, reverse or cancel referral credit, and may withdraw access to the program, where it reasonably believes a referral is not genuine. This includes orders created to obtain credit without a real intention to use the service, services cancelled shortly after credit is issued, orders placed using false details, and any attempt to manipulate the referral system.

7.3 GippsHost may decline to record a referral where the referral link has been distributed through spam, misleading advertising, or in a way that implies the referrer represents or speaks for GippsHost.

8.1 Referral credit is applied as a discount against amounts you owe GippsHost. You are responsible for any tax consequences that may apply to you.

9.1 GippsHost may change or end the referral program, including the credit amount and the expiry period, by publishing updated Terms on the GippsHost website.

9.2 A change does not remove credit already issued to your account before the change took effect. Credit already issued remains subject to its original expiry.

10.1 These Terms operate alongside the GippsHost Internet Terms and Conditions, the GippsHost General Terms and Conditions, and the GippsHost Privacy Policy.

10.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
